Since its foundation in 1927, the Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land has pursued the guiding principle of sustainability. The co-operative association is wholly owned by its approximately 1,700 farmers and is also the first organic dairy in Bavaria. As an ambassador for fair and responsible business practices, it is committed to animal welfare and the preservation of biodiversity.

The new website of Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land aims to convincingly reflect its values - sustainability, animal welfare and the authentic mountain farming tradition. At the same time, the website must fulfil the requirements of a contemporary, user-friendly design in order to effectively address both existing and new target groups.

Solution

A new digital design concept authentically conveys the dairy's brand values. The relaunch includes a modern website that focuses on the cooperative's principles, commitment to animal welfare and the protection of biodiversity. At the same time, it offers a user-friendly online experience that makes visitors curious to discover more.

Strategic approach

Our approach focusses on presenting the unique values of Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land in a modern digital format. Through exciting on-site insights and experiences, we have developed a concept that captures the essence of the brand. We combine vibrant imagery with innovative features to create a website that is both informative and emotionally engaging.

UX Concept & Design 

Inspired by the valuable insights and experiences on site, we developed a design that allows visitors to the website to immerse themselves directly in the world of Molkerei Berchtesgadener Land. The homepage welcomes users with a dynamic parallax slider that visually guides them into the atmosphere of the dairy and provides relevant information at the same time. The website offers generous insights into the landscape and the economic aspects of the dairy. In addition, the concept includes a comprehensive product database, a recipe area and a login portal for retailers and farmers to meet the different needs of the target groups.

Technical implementation

The innovative and modern Neos CMS was used as the basis for the website, which offers the customer the option of maintaining content themselves down to the last detail via front-end editing or, of course, creating new pages. A complex product database with filtering required a conceptual revision of the product range structure; we relied on Elastic Search for fast and reliable search and filter results. And we used pixi.js, a 2D WebGL renderer, for the parallax slider on the homepage and lottie.js for SVG animations.
