Bayern Card-Services GmbH, a part of the Sparkassen Finanzgruppe, is the leading service provider for the credit card business within the Group and as a competence center offers institutes the complete service from a single source. We already relaunched the credit card portal based on TYPO3 in 2009.

The redesign of the portal for the Sparkasse Credit Cards went online at the end of 2014. 
In addition to the new design, the website now supports users with many new functions. New customers can now obtain information on the credit cards, the associated services and also value-added offers. Cardholders have the option to view and book individual offers and services through the personal dashboard, which can be accessed via mobile phone or desktop PC. 

The interface design

The design framework is specified fairly precisely due to the Sparkasse style guide. However, we were still able to align the design and the imagery of the portal to the customer experience to a great extent, thus highlighting the attractiveness for the use of credit cards and the associated benefits.
We added a newly designed set to the existing iconography. The relaunch with a multi-device capability not only ensures a pleasant usability and flexibility, but also showed a clearly positive effect through a tripling of the registration quota.

The underlying technology

The biggest technical and conceptual challenge was to create a login area, in which the corresponding individual added value and services for the card product are displayed for each Sparkasse customer according to a complex criteria matrix. The TYPO3 portal in the background is also highly “networked”, i.e., is connected to several interfaces with third party systems.
